Critical Examination of Nietzsche's Genealogy of Morals
The theory of the genealogy of morals by Friedrich Nietzsche in "On the Genealogy of Morality," published in 1887, provides an interesting and pertinent assessment of conventional morality. At this point, although I find much logic in Nietzsche's analysis, I am sorry to disagree with some of his statements. Ressentiment, as borrowed from French moralist Max Stirner, lies at the heart of Nietzche’s theory. Resentments, as conceived by Nietzsche, are feelings in which one feels bitter about being weak or inferior. According to Nietzsche, resentment should not be underestimated as it plays a role in forming morality, namely,
