Montana is a perfect example of how POCET and Diamond's Five Point framework can be analysed and implemented. The state of Montana is a native American town with beautiful and peaceful environmental conditions that most outsiders come to visit, and annual 4% of them make it their home. Even though agricultural production, the land has not been the most viable economic activity in the area; rather, mining, logging, and later real estate is at the forefront.
The population of Montana is the 6th smallest of the 48 states in the US and boasts a semi-aged population in early retirement. The age bracket between 45 to 59 is the majority (70%), while the freshly gradated youths seek new experiences outside the state. The annual population increase of 4% is solely due to the settlement of newcomers who seek to retire in Montana's peaceful and beautiful form.
Montana populations are conservatives and anti-government regulations. Ironically the very values they hold dear are in direct conflict with preserving the aesthetic value of the state....
