Initially, most individuals or communities were hunted and gathered food. Regarding the contemporary context, the question of why these communities or individuals did not adopt food production from the early stages appears silly. However, the demerits of being a hunter-gatherer appear evident. Over 100 centuries ago, the primary outcome has been a significant change from hunting and gathering to farming to raise food. The food production factor is the reason behind the considerable increase in population density. Archaeologists have established clear evidence of increasing densities linked to the shift in food production (Diamond 111).
