Campbell’s, headquartered in Camden, New Jersey, was founded in 1869. It is a publicly-traded company on the NYS, with the ticker symbol CPB. The CEO is Mark Clouse. Although we think of soup when we think of Campbell, the company is a huge snack food manufacturer. The company makes many processed food products. The soup can is an iconic American image.
PRODUCTS OFFERED
Campbell’s product base includes more than just soups and snacks. The company’s products weathered the trends in its over 150 years of business.

Selective price increases will be in effect soon. There is pressure from the competitors in private label soup products as it interferes with Campbell’s sales.
INFLATION PROBLEMS
Inflation or price increases have not impacted sales of indulgent products, such as Pepperidge Farm cookies and goldfish. However, people are buying more condensed soup, in any brand, to economize in this time of high inflation.
SUPPLY CHAIN ISSUES
Consumers still buy name-brand salty snacks such as Kettle Chips and Snyders pretzels. However, supply chain issues are affecting the inventories, including flour due to the war in Ukraine and aluminium can availability (WSJ, p. B6)

Before writing the final copy of the informational memo, we followed several prewriting steps to help us prepare a memo that was relevant to our audience. The first step was identifying and describing our readers. Understanding the reader is the first step to any successful writing process, and in our case, we made sure that we could describe the reader and use this information to write. Secondly, we had to establish our objective. Establishing our objective meant we had to make sure that we understood why we were drafting the informational memo. Clarity of the objective means that we understand the goal and are actively working to ensure that we get it right. The third step entails determining the scope of the memo. The scope of the memo determines the information we include and the depth of the memo. This gave way to the organization of the memo, where now we determined which information is more crucial and should be shared first. While organizing the memo, one either comes up with headers or makes use of the obvious headers within the memo. However, these too have to be organized to give the most crucial information first. For example, the reader should not find the name of the company in the third section of the memo. As a matter of priority, some pieces of information should be in the first paragraph. Finally, we drafted the memo and made sure that everything fitted as it was designed.
