The presentation is done by James Rhee and revolves around how important goodwill is in society as a whole. To show just how much goodwill is important in both our personal and career lives, the speaker employs the use of two captivating stories. He narrates how he received a gift as a young boy as a sign of goodwill (Rhee). He also points out how goodwill played a pivotal role in resuscitating a cloth line company that was on the brink of collapse.
The speaker does his presentation from a red surfaced platform of what appears to be an auditorium. I chose the topic of goodwill in particular because it plays a crucial role in our day-to-day lives, and I am alive to the fact that without goodwill, our lives would lose flavor. I have also been a beneficiary of acts of goodwill at some point in life. The speaker is addressing a relatively small audience that consists of both men and women. They appear to attentively hang on every one of his words. The audience might consist of technocrats, for all I know, but going by their casual attire, it is hard to tell. The topic of goodwill is relevant for any kind of audience because goodwill is an important cog in our daily lives. The main points are well articulated, easy to understand, and very logical.
Credit must be given to the speaker for his oratorical ability. Even without referring to written notes, his speech flows quite seamlessly. He seems to avoid the use of complex technical terms unless where necessary. As such, his speech is well crafted, smooth, and easy to follow. The speaker introduces his topic in his first sentence and in a very straightforward manner. He begins by defining goodwill from two different perspectives. He gives a technical definition that is pertinent in business circles. He also offers the conventional definition and actually dwells on that in the entire presentation (Rhee). Without a doubt, this is a well-thought-out speech, and the main points are clearly and veritably outlined. The speaker makes this easier by citing examples from his two stories.
