Corn is a good raw material for ethanol, which is domestically used as fuel. In the United States (U.S.), there are several ethanol production plants in the Midwest, where corn is vastly produced (AFDC). While ethanol can be produced from several other sources, such as cellulosic feedstocks, the use of corn for fuel ethanol production is more common. Corn's large amount of carbohydrates/starch makes it suitable for ethanol production (AFDC). Two processes are used to process corn to fuel ethanol. These include dry-milling and wet-milling.
In dry-milling, corn is milled into corn flour and then fermented to produce ethanol. There are five mar processes involved in this process.
