Read the short stories: “The Ones Who Walked Away from Omelas”
Ursula K. LeGuin has constructed a society that believes that sacrificing one person for the greater good of the community is valid and even necessary. Are we in any sense currently living in Omelas? Who are we sacrificing so that we can live well? Explain. (150-250 words).
