Argument Essay on the topic about Aliens Life Sciences Essay
Argument Essay
In this Project, we have focused on scientific debates about the possibility and probability of intelligent extraterrestrial life. On one side of the debate, some scientists claim we are alone in the universe and offer several reasons to support their claim. On the other side of the debate, other scientists claim that we are probably not alone, that we need to search for extraterrestrial life, and they offer reasons of their own. We have also broadened our discussion to include ethical considerations that help us more sharply see what the possibility of intelligent extraterrestrial life could mean for us as galactic co-inhabitants.
To write this argument essay, choose one of these two approaches:
1) take a position about which side of the scientific debate is most credible and why; or
2) defend an ethical principle that can help guide our understanding of and possible interactions with extraterrestrial life (intelligent or not).
Minimum 3 sources.A successful essay will focus on a question or problem that is neither too big nor too small; it will frame that question or problem within the conversation constituted by the course readings; it will offer a clear claim as a way of entering the conversation;it will support that claim with good evidence from the course readings; and it will accomplish all of this following the principles of good paragraphs and sentences. A successful essay will also develop its argument by engaging the opposing view.4-5 pages.
Please ONLY use the articles (9-15) as your sources, choose at least 3 sources form them and use it in the argument essay

Motivating Question:
To what extent is there a probability that humans are not the only civilization in the universe?
Claim:
The alien civilizations indeed exist, even the probability of the birth of life and the development of intelligence is very small, but this is relative, and the universe is big enough to counteract and even affect it in a positive way.

Civilization in the universe
Introduction
It is important to note that since human beings began looking in the skies, they have gained significant knowledge about issues that exist beyond planet Earth. The development of technology and comprehension of the universe has made it possible for scientists to evaluate the possibility of extraterrestrial civilization through the use of experiments. The alien civilizations indeed exist, even the probability of the birth of life and the development of intelligence is very small, but this is relative, and the universe is big enough to counteract and even affect it in a positive way. Therefore, to what extent is there a probability that humans are not the only civilization in the universe? In the article, “Have Aliens Found Us? A Harvard Astronomer on the Mysterious Interstellar Object ‘Oumuamua” Isaac Chotiner asserts that the Oumuamua might be sent to the Earth by an alien civilization. In the article “Yes, There Have Been Aliens,” Adam Frank explains that although currently there may not be extraterrestrial civilization in the galaxy, there is no doubt that they existed at some point in the past. In the article “Fancy Math Can’t Make Aliens Real,” Ross Andersen explains that Earth is not the first intelligent civilization. I, therefore, maintain that there are other civilizations in the universe.
The existence of interstellar objects in the universe is a sign of alien civilizations. Oumuamua was an extreme asteroid that the scientists observed in our solar system and gave it the Hawaiian name, which means a messenger. It was “suggested that the object may be a fully operational probe sent intentionally to Earth’s vicinity by an alien civilization” (Chotiner, 155). It is essential to understand that different extraordinary issues were witnessed with Oumuamua that made it suspicious among the scientist. First, the heavenly body was not expected to exist; the use of technology and human knowledge about the universe would not help explain the existence of Oumuamua. Additionally, the asteroid also did not conform to the known knowledge of heavenly bodies. It did not have gas around it, and the cometary tail and the scientists maintained that Oumuamua came from another star, then it must have been special (Chotiner, 156). In this regard, there is are high chances that his extremely elongated object had been purposely sent to survey the universe by an uncounted alien civilization. This is possible because, with the high level of technology, even the most unexpected changes and objects found in the universe can be accounted for, and this was not the case with Oumuamua.
Additionally, the discoveries about the universe show that people are not fully aware of the existence of extraterrestrial beings, and they cannot, therefore, be ruled out. It is essential to comprehend that many people are unaware of the universe, and this supported by the increased discoveries that scientists have made in the near past. For example, decades ago, it was unknown whether there are other planets beyond the solar system. However, it is now known that “we have reason to believe that nearly all stars host planets and that many of them are rocky and wet like our own” (Andersen, 153). These discoveries prove that the existence of alien civilization cannot be ruled out. As Andersen maintains, there are other different things that are happening on the planet that people have the slightest idea. For example, there are only theories that explain how volcanic vents are formed, but there are no conclusive laboratory processes that can depict the real forces behind volcanoes. There are high chan...
