Furthermore, the highest number of incarcerations targets black individuals who are believed to be selling drugs, thus leading to the presence of many black people in United States prisons (Wingfield, 44). This aspect leaves many communities in poverty state since most men are locked up and they are the ones considered breadwinners for their families.
