Furthermore, with globalization it seems that the world is slowly moving towards, “a specialized and relatively autonomous shares of social action and structures” (Shaw, 2017, p. 48). The conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza bring to light the disintegration of international law and the unsolved questions on the effectiveness of international law in intervening and ending disputes. Although international law defines principles that establish peace, justice, and humane treatment, the fact that these regions are experiencing war sadly poses the question of whether the law works or not. This essay evaluates the shortcomings of international law in current conflicts as seen through the case of Ukraine and Gaza.
