Reading this particular response helped me see how convincing the president’s speech was. First of all, the argument that the speech is emotionally convincing is quite true. President Trump did make use of certain sentences and phrases that were meant to make his stance credible. In tying his speech to the American people and making it all about them and their needs, the president was able to endear himself and his agenda to the American people. The response, therefore, does capture quite clearly how the president made his speech about the American people. In the response, there is also the argument that President Trump made several statements that could be deemed unreasonable. Well, I am not sure about the choice of words here but I agree with the expansion of this particular argument. Trump, a billionaire, could not be possibly the ‘chosen one.’ Having benefited from the system himself, he is indeed far from being the chosen one. So, I do believe that this particular point is quite strong.
Secondly, since his ascension to the position of president, Trump has taken unpopular stands on several issues that taint his call to unity of the American people. The response not only captures the above but also gifts particular instances when the president was taking such stances.
