Iranian architectural work is historical and has continued to reflect the early art of Safavid to a significant extent. It seems the architecture art style was majorly determined by the religions and leaders at that time and being boosted by financial power. This paper will discuss Naqsh-e Jahan Square and the kind of art that is well-pronounced in Safavid places.
Naqsh-e Jahan Square, also called Imam Square, is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It is a square-shaped structural attraction site found in Isfahan city in Iran. The Safavid era structures surround Naqsh-e Jahan Square. Within the square, there are horses having luggage on the back; they can mean ‘to carry you back to the historical Safavid era. The Imam Mosque is located in the southern part of Naqsh-e Jahan Square, and the north side opens up the Isfahan Grand Bazaar. On the west of the square, there is Qapu Palace, while the eastern side has Sheikh Lotf Allah Mosque. The Safavids from the 16-19th century dominate Iranian architecture, and this explains why Naqsh-e Jahan Square denotes the Safavid era.
The Safavid architectural art was more of a political and dynastic context than style. Magnificent structures were erected during the reign of Shahs, but when historical lines are examined, it is noticeable that architectural emergence was quite sporadic.
