The employers and the administrators are looking for ways to promote empowerment within the workforce. They are putting efforts to understand how they can change the current set-up of the working environment. But, these changes within work have made little progress in terms of empowerment because of varying reasons. One of which is that the employees have inner doubts or inner contradictions with these changes. These doubts prevent employees from being creative, innovative, and being motivated. Another reason why there is little progress in empowerment because the workers themselves are very reluctant to accept personal responsibilities and accountabilities. This lack of accountability is because of the idea that the managers are practicing this so-called command-and-control approach. The employees are indecisive about whether they will accept this kind of empowerment or not, considering that they do not want to have too much personal accountability on something. According to the employees, the empowerment that the management would want to promote is a good idea. However, these employees would want to have fewer responsibilities and personal accountabilities with the outcomes.
