Project
Operations plan
As people put the effort to protect the environment, there needs to be a system that ensures recycled waste is not mismanaged consequently perpetuating further pollution. The first step of actualizing this project is pitching the idea to city heads to obtain licenses and a chance at collaboration to distribute Bin-E. Additionally, the cities’ management will have data on areas prone to waste pollution which will help in maximizing the recycling bins’ success. Therefore, homes, communities, and parks will be allocated Bin-E based on their waste output levels. With the first part done, it is up to us to facilitate education on how to use the bins and cultivate efficient recycling habits. CITATION Dra19 \l 1033 (Draffin, 2019) Recycling waste is not a conscious decision as it rarely gets featured among activities in our routines. Confusion and skepticism about the process or recycling or climate change often lead to apathy. Therefore, our operation plan takes this into consideration with suggestions to generate interest such as education, convenience, and accessibility. Bin-E is thus labeled and has pictures to invoke the interest in participation. To make it easier to use, it has inbuilt technology that mitigates errors offering convenience and organization to the community. By reducing such small barriers, people will try incorporating the recycling habit into their routine due to less hustle and clear evidence of success.
The creation of an organized recycling plant is the second operation for my project. With enough resources allocated to advertising Bin-E, I expect to have enough waste to warrant creation and investing in a recycling plant. The plant will aim to ease the management of plastic materials and continue offering convenience to communities. It will be ionic for a recycling company to be the source of pollution therefore, some measures like location and recycling processes will be considered. The plant will be located far from offices and housing neighborhoods to avoid being the source of noise pollution. Also, the processes used to recycle the plastics will be Safe for the environment as I strive for zero-emission of greenhouse gases. The plant needs a team with the same vision as I in all the stages of recycling. The main selling point for Bin-E is convenience therefore, the waste product needs to be collected regularly to incentivize the public on using the bins more. Transport to the recycling plan also needs to be efficient to keep the recycling going. Another team will be involved in the sorting out of the waste and preparing them for recycling. Finally, I will select representatives from the organization to aid in other issues such as attending to the users of Bin-E. As mentioned, the bins rely on technology to help sort out waste and reduce the chances of errors. Therefore, the team will be mandated to help in the maintain ace of the bins for the public.
Finally, the public needs to see the results of the project to offer people more incentive to continue using Bin-E or consider it for those without it. Creating an assembly line is the final operation plan for my project which intends to sell quality products from the recycled materials. I intend to sell the products at a fair price to encourage people to buy them instead of other products. The quality of the product is key to help reduce the skepticism and ignorance that can be placed upon products made out of recycled materials. What I hope to achieve with these three operation plans is creating a system that works for everyone involved including the environment. However, all this will be possible if individuals are educated and buy into the vision and convenience of using Bin-E to manage their waste.
Critical risks.
There are a lot of risks in the enactment of this project starting with the safety of the Bin-E. The value and efficiency of the bin are among the selling point to encourage people to aid in recycling waste. However, if not properly guarded, the Bin-E will be prone to damage or worse theft. Therefore, to combat this risk, I need the cooperation of the respective cities to ensure that taking care of the Bin-E is their utmost priority when distributing to the communities. The bin will also be clearly labeled to show which project it belongs to and make it easier to be identified. The communities also need to take responsibility for the bins by locking them during the night after they are emptied and the waste is transported. The cities will most likely introduce replacement charges to incentivize the community to take care of the bin to continue enjoying its benefits.
The project is huge and at some point, the money will become an issue when unexpect...
