Virtual Field Trip: MOMA Gallery
This week you will take a virtual field trip to the Museum of Modern Art. There are many exhibitions presented and/or documented on the museum's current website, from the New Photography 2020 online exhibition, to a Carrie Mae Weems installation, to many galleries presenting work in a chronological, cross-disciplinary manner:

Choose three artists or exhibitions, and write your opinion about them. This two-page essay should be an opinion piece, ready for publication in a magazine specializing in art, and therefore should only briefly touch on biographical information. For each of the three artists or exhibitions, specifically describe at least one piece to support your ideas. The goal is to make your opinion heard.

MoMA Gallery Review
MoMA is an art museum situated in Manhattan, NYC. It is among the largest and most influential Museums of Modern Art worldwide. Hence, the institution plays an integral role in developing and collecting modern artifacts and other objects with historical, artistic, cultural, or scientific significance. Indeed, MoMA is an extraordinary contemporary art exhibition and collection center that ignites minds, inspires, and fuels creativity.
Adam Pendleton: Who is Queen?
Adam Pendleton is a young American conceptual artist who has a significant contribution to MoMA’s upcoming programming. Who is Queen? transforms the institution’s atrium into an appealing floor-to-ceiling multimedia installation comprising three wooden scaffolds (MoMA). It functions like a machine, and an algorithmic score that gathers, presents, and documents archive materials regulates it. Apart from serving as an arena for an ever-shifting program of live events, the art responds to the recent popular mobilizations, including Black Lives Matter and Occupy Movement. Again, it explores the artist’s intellectual interests via a rotating display of paintings, portraits, and sound pieces. The artistic work proves that Adam Pendleton is a rare artist with a unique ability to utilize different mediums and subjects, as well as work with collaborators in the final work. Rashid Johnson: Stage
Richard Johnson is an influential figure in the contemporary American artistic discipline. His works employ various media strategies to address the theme of historical arts, shared cultural identities, philosophy, and materiality, personal narratives, to mention a few. The stage is a participatory sound work that draws the history of microphones that served as tools for protests.
