In Adélaïde Labille-Guiard’s Self-portrait with two students, the artist shows her image, and two female students looking attentively. Marie Gabrielle Capet and Marie Marguerite Carreaux de Rosemond were themselves painters (Met Museum). Labille-Guiard has a palette on her left hand and lap and holds a painting brush on her right hand while the canvas is hidden from view.
