Companies rely on acquiring people with different professional background across the globe. These companies do this in order to have a competent team that can take the firm to other levels and become the best internationally. Talent management is the process of attracting, onboarding, developing, motivating, and retaining employees who are performing highly. It has seven components that majority of companies across the globe follow in maintaining its stature. The first component is strategic employee planning and then followed by talent acquisition and retention (Gallardo-Gallardo et al., 2020). The third step is performance management and then learning and motivation. Here retained employees are trained to acquire more skills and knowledge in their respect positions. The fifth is compensation with relevance to the responsibilities each employee has in the firm. The sixth one is career development and finally succession planning.
Talent management is very critical and advantageous to every firm. The assertion is the truth as every firm need a good team to realize its vision and attained laid down objectives. It is important to manage talent as it enables the firm to attract a top talent that will help in realizing the vision of the corporation. Employees are always motivated when a good talent management is in place. They will tend to work extra to get motivated for example, pay rise or promotion within the same company. It is critical as it helps in covering critical roles in the company not to remain vacant. A company functions as a unit and sub-units that if a given department is not properly represented then the performance of the firm will derail and affect the overall outlook.
Most employees like engagement and that is the role of talent management. When an employ is given a specific role by human resource department, he or she will do the work so as to prove to the supervisor that he or she is good for the company. When such happens, the employee who was given role to play the superior or human resource will perform the task to the best of his or her ability hence compensated highly.
