The factors that are internal to the organization are part of the internal environment. The company’ strong financial performance has allowed Apple to pursue growth and expansion more in the UK and beyond. However, the major smartphone parts suppliers have reported slower growth likely because of Apple scaling back orders and the manufacture of the smartphone (Salinas, 2018). Apple emphasized innovation and the integration of cutting edge technology to remain competitive and the manufacture of innovative and sleek electronic devices have made the firm one of the most competitive in the industry (Son, Lee & Kim, 2015, p. 2). Even with focus on size, usability and Face ID technology, the supply chain concerns will likely pose a problem if the suppliers cut their forecast of demand and manufacture fewer parts and components than expected.
Apple has leading market position in the UK and has still and retained a wide customer base. After the release of the Apple iPhone XR and maintaining, presence across the UK gives a competitive edge over the other recently launched smartphones in 2018. The company has a wide geographic presence and if the customer base is marinated the smartphone model will perform better that the competitors’ brands even as growth is sluggish. Nonetheless, even as Apple sells various products the firm is overly dependent on the iPhone product line, and this may affect the company’s business operations in the long run.
Structures, functions, responsibilities internal environment
While there is a hierarchical structure in place is one of the most important responsibilities related to marketing activities are the internet software and services, marketing communications and retail sections. The retail, communications and marketing functions are coordinated at the divisional and national level to ensure there is proper planning for marketing of the device. There is increased competition from other products in the UK at a lower price and similar performance, but Chinese brands like Huawei are not popular in the UK. While the iPhone is a premium product, Apple promised to deliver their best features in the Apple iPhone XR, but price the device less than previous versions, and this may result in losing the premium brand market share. Both brand loyalty and satisfaction influence consumer purchasing behaviour when buying smartphones and it is necessary to consider what informs their decisions (Lam and Shankar, 2014, p.30)

External factors influence companies and that they cannot control these factors in the macroenvironment. For instance, forces like the rapid change of technology, demographic trends, government policies, population culture, and social trends often affect an industry and the economy as a whole (Taute, et al, 2017, p. 240). However, forces affect individual companies differently depending on how competitive they are.
