This summative report will assess your understanding of Commercial Technology Development. The report should be 3,000 words in length, excluding references and appendices, and is worth 100% of the overall unit mark. It is designed to evaluate your performance according to the Unit Learning Outcomes. B. Identifying a product/technology of your chosen organisation Within your chosen organisation, identify ONE technology or product that the organisation has ideally already commercialised and has high technology readiness level, TRL (you have the option to identify a technology that they are planning to commercialise, i.e., medium technology readiness level, however, be aware that there is a possibility less published information and data might be available on that). This technology/product will be further analysed and assessed in the report. To achieve high marks, you need to provide evidence from reliable and respectable sources of information to justify your analysis and recommendation. You need to be clear about the organisation, technology/product, and global challenges.

Presentation of the report:

 Length should be 3,000 words (+/-10% allowance will be made) excluding cover page, list of contents, tables, references, and appendices. Add page numbers, and number each section.

 There are no set number of words per section, there should be a good balance across the sections.

 In terms of formatting, this is up to you. If you have not done a report before, a good example is: Font: Arial, Font size: 10, Line spacing: 1.5.

 Cite your references within the document using Harvard referencing system e.g. (surname/s, year) of IEEE Referencing. It is strongly advisable you do the “Online Citation Referencing Quiz”.

 All tables and figures require: a number, a title/caption, and citations where relevant.

 The whole report should be written in 3rd person, only the Reflection should be written in 1st person. Your work must be submitted in a PDF format via Blackboard, please see your Handbook section “Blackboard submission”.
