Response Paper on Problems in America Foreign Relations
Please choose a document from the Major Problems readings for the week you are writing. In a 1-2 page paper please respond to your chosen document. Your paper should include a bibliographical reference, and should have 2 parts to it.
The first part of your paper should be a candid response to the document. Did you enjoy this document, did you find it overly long, or difficult to understand? Why did you choose this document to respond to? Did something about it stick out as familiar or surprising? Was there something you found interesting or intriguing?
The second part of the paper should focus on why the document was created in the way it was. What type of document is it (an article, a speech, a letter, etc)? Who was intended to read it? What did the author want to accomplish or say through the work, and just as importantly- were they successful in their aims? Why or why not? What choices did they make that allowed the work to achieve that aim (or not)? Does your analysis of the document relate to your earlier reaction to the document (is it suitable that you didn’t find a supreme court case to be very exciting, or that a political speech was written in clear accessible language)? Remember to be specific and use examples from the text (with citations) to describe your ideas.

Introduction
A response paper describes a reaction towards an article, speech or book showing the feelings of the reader and responses to the content of the piece. This paper describes a reaction on a selected portion which is a speech from a book Problems in American Foreign Relations written by Merrill et al. 2006. The speech is addressed to the president by a member of the congress senator Robert M. La Follette. In the speech, the senator is not happy with the conditions that the poor people are striving in NOTEREF _Ref4748691 \f \h 1. Therefore, the senator starts the presentation with lamentation to the head of state about the poor people whose voice does not add value to the country. Besides, the content of the speech describes the countries that neighbour the United States with their political conditions for their citizens so that the President can realize the situation to which he has exposed the citizens. Candid Response
Upon reading the document, I would say the content was relative because I never enjoyed reading it nor was it also dull. The report was never difficult to understand as well as not long to peace of the reading. The only problem I realized is that the document was not arranged in a manner that it could attract the attention of the reader to yawn for the next information that follows.
I chose the document because I have interest in the United States political systems in the 19th century more especially during the World War I.
