The JFC usually designates a Joint Force Air Component Commander based on several factors. AFFOR coordinates with joint force operations to develop detailed combat support plans, ensure unity of combat support, coordinate decision-making and planning, establish a joint logistics and support architecture, and integrate national and theatre combat support (Schmitt et al., 2016). The authorities and command relationships of the JFACC include exercising operational and tactical control over joint air and military forces available and assigned for tasking. The functions and responsibilities of JFACC include allocation, planning, tasking, and coordination of joint air operations concerning the JFCs concept of air apportionment decisions and operations.
