Metis is a group of people in Canada. The first case revealed a challenge to determine a Metis and who is not a challenge based on One Grabirel Daniel. He left the Supreme Court of Canada ruling, which in effect concentrated the Metis waters with the court documentation that,” There is no consensus on who is considered Merit or a non-status Indian, nor need there be. Cultural and ethnic labels do not lend themselves to neat boundaries. “Merit” can refer to the historic Merit community in Manitoba’s Red River Settlement with mixed European and Aboriginal heritage.” Through this idea, so many people lacked their rights, and others gained more benefits since they cannot determine as Merit. Canada’s developing Aboriginal population is asserting its rights as it is supposed to be. However, as per the case, it was good to follow restitution are promising to get to the bandwagon. In this case, an individual failed to get Merit status to gain freebies or government handouts. It was noted that benefits were to be left for the Merit people alone who required help. In addition, when dealing with individuals is hard to note who the real Merit is, and there is a need to do thorough verification in various processes (Redbird, 2010). 
It is a challenge to realize the available number of Metis, and this makes it complicated. It is acknowledged that some people who are going to self-determination as being Metis over Canada for the objective of the census, though not all individuals would be among the Metis country.
