Project Stakeholders and Project Methodology
Stakeholders and project drivers play a vital role in the success of the project. Stakeholders are the people that benefit from the project deliverables directly or indirectly. Stakeholders can either be internally or externally. According to Woerkom and Zeijl-Rozema, (2017), the internal stakeholders are the people inside the organization that will benefit from the project, while external stakeholders are people outside the company that will gain from the project. The collaboration of the two types of stakeholders helps in promoting the success of the project. Stakeholders play a vital role in ensuring the entire project has access to the different resources it might need. They are also necessary whenever the team requires consulting. The internal stakeholders' prior understanding of the previous system's success and downfalls is vital in the project delivery process (Kumar, 2021). The project team counts on the approval of the stakeholders before the project begins. Whenever the stakeholders are happy with the project, they will easily support its development process. The project drivers have the role of ensuring the stakeholders are in a loop with all the project development processes.
On the other hand, the project drivers are the people that work towards the project development. They can either be the project managers (PM) or part of the project management office. A project manager is an individual that supervises the entire project development process. Project managers are in charge of setting the project goals, deciding the time for project completion, assigning responsibilities to all team members, and presenting the project to the stakeholders. The project management office is a team of people that support the project manager in the project development process (Woerkom & Zeijl-Rozema, 2017). They include the software developers, the finance officials, the risk management team, and the project evaluators. The project management office team combines their strengths to facilitate the success of the project. The collaboration of the project manager and the project management office determines the success of the team.
The inclusion of the project milestone, timeline, task, and resources are significant in several ways. The project milestones are different events during the project development process. The events are important in the assessment of the project deliverables. During each event, the team is expected to be at a particular stage of the project (Woerkom & Zeijl-Rozema, 2017). The desire to fulfill the project in time pressurizes the team to deliver. Project timeline is the allocated time for each project task. The timeline is essential in ensuring the proj...
