Big data is a critical component of every healthcare facility. The advancement of technology has made it possible for people from across the globe to communicate with ease and for the medical professions to share data (Glassman, 2017). For the medical profession to mitigate against the risks of big data being used in medical facilities, it is essential to understand the different risks of having such information. One of the ways that data can be breached is through hacking and having unauthorized patient information fall into the wrong hands. One of the best ways to mitigate against this risk is by having two levels of authentication before any person can access the patient data (Wang et al., 2020). Having a two-level authentication is critical to the safety of the patient data in case the first line of defense has been breached. The people who are supposed to use this data should be trained on how to use it and always ensure it is up to date whenever they are using their computers.
