You may either register or continue as a guest using the bottom drop-down menu. This site provides several different quizzes. Possible options include racial bias, age-related bias, cultural bias, weight bias, sexual orientation bias, and others. You may take one quiz, or as many as you like. Remember, ONLY use the quizzes under the "Social Attitudes" link. Consider the results of your quiz, together with what you have learned so far in this course about the role of the mediator, as well as what you have learned this week about bias. In 1-2 pages: Explain your results; Describe strengths or weaknesses your scores suggest you might have as a mediator, making sure to reflect on our learning resources for the week; and Reflect on the readings and analyze in your own words what impact bias has on a mediator or mediation, and what steps mediators should take to ensure they remain neutral. Important information regarding this assignment: These quizzes have been used in Harvard research and are designed to elicit automatic reactions from participants. You will have to respond quickly, so try to ensure you are in a distraction-free environment for the short time it will take to complete the quiz. Please take your chosen quiz(zes) one time only. Because of the quiz design testing automatic reaction to quick images, repeated attempts after you are already familiar with the test images will impact the result. Students sometimes are surprised by and/or strongly disagree with the results of their quiz. This is fine, and you can still complete the assignment as instructed. For our purposes, the quiz is intended as a learning tool to promote conversation for this exercise. This is NOT a space to discuss the merits or design of the quiz itself. Please focus on the instructions for the assignment (above) and your learning goals. Because the quizzes are designed to measure immediate, automatic reactions, most students report learning much about themselves and their implicit (unconscious) biases.
