Symbolic Interactionism Theory is a sociological theory that studies the life of the human group by analyzing the interactions of people in daily life. It mainly researches about how people interact through different ways, mechanisms and laws. George Herbert Mead, a social psychologist in the United States, believes that symbols are the foundation of social life. People interact with each other through various symbols, and they can use them to understand the behaviour of others. Mind, according to Mead, arises within the social process of communication and cannot be understood apart from that process. The communicational process involves two phases: (1) the "conversation of gestures" and (2) language, or the "conversation of significant gestures." Both phases presuppose a social context within which two or more individuals are in interaction with one another.
In Symbolic Interactionism, symbols are the basic concept. Symbols refer to all things that represent a person's meaning, such as language, words, actions objects, and even scenes. The reason why a thing becomes a symbol is that people give it a certain meaning, and everyone recognizes this meaning.
EMOJI
Emoji are emoticons, it was named by a Japanese word "絵文字", which pronounce as emoji. The designer of emoji is a Japanese who names Shigetaka Kurita. He got his idea from the elements he saw in his childhood, such as Japanese manga and Japanese words. In manga, there are a lot of different symbols. Cartoonists created a lot of expressions such as drawing a bulb on top of the head to show someone got an idea. Also, Shigetaka also got an idea from the Japanese word, which uses the simple character to represent "secret" and "love".
Since Apple Company added emoji to their typing system; it became popular to all around the world. It greatly helped people to rich the way they express emotion on chatting by texting and is formed as a unique Internet language.
Emojis are perceived as affectionate adjunct or whimsical humorous to the online communications. However, there is so much more to this phenomenon as they hold a more complex social cultural history and they tend to be performing roles in the social media corresponding that is nonverbal conduct in offline speech. Thus, emoji brings or in other words humanize mediated communication by injecting emotion, ambiguity and creativity. Emoji culture has influenced most aspects of our lives for example art, philosophy, social live and even religion.
Religion
Emoji has an amazing amount of religious diversity. It includes all the major world religion, such as Chinese philosophy, Atheism and Judaism. According to the founder of Emojipedia (an emoji reference website), this diversity is made in purpose by the Unicode Consortium, a global organization that in charge of Unicode Standard and manage the development of internationally recognized emojis.
This emoji is used to describing a person is praying, or when talking about prayer.
Apple iPhone is the first system that adds religious emoji in their keyboard. In their users, there are a big amount of religious people. The religious emojis are made for them to easier express their faith in public. At first, Apple company only made religious emojis for popular religions. However, the demand of other religious people rising up quickly, so they keep adding more and more emojis that represent different religion. In America, a lot of young people increasingly looking for emojis that represent their beliefs to express their secular activism.

In the beginning, when Emojis just had been invented, Japanese people use it as a cute way to simplify their texts. After it gets popular, it caused pressure from vendors and international markets to add additional designs into the Unicode standard to meet the demands of different cultures. NTT DoCoMo (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone), the company which the designer of the Emoji work at, used emoji to deliver weather reports to pager users (such as sun, lighting bolt, umbrella and snowman emoji) and direct them to local businesses; the martini stood for a bar, and the high heel indicates a clothing shop.
Emoji began to be used outside of Japan in 2010 when they were adopted into the worldwide character-encoding standard Unicode. It is the only form of communication has spread worldwide so quickly. The power of emoji depends on its playfulness and ability to instantly convey emotions and a friendly tone in digital communication, which are the reason why Kurita designed this.
