Tuning In, Tuning Out: The Strange Disappearance of Social Capital in the United States

Essay Instructions:
This is a revision (writer is on vacation thus we set is for you!) revision instructions were:"I still cannot match any of the cites in the paper with the article. This paper is due on Thursday and I really need the cites to match to the article." I do not need a citation page, just the citations at the end of each sentence. Please make sure that the citations are easily found. The last paper I turned in from Customessay the professor said the citations were inconsistent. In a well written two page essay examine the following issues from the article: 1.What is Social Capital? 2.How can social capital be increased? 3.What causes the decrease of social capital? 4.Do you thinkthings have changed since the writing of the article in 1995? Why or why not?

Another solution is encouraging successful marriages and family units as this is associated with greater social trust and civic engagement. The government should also use social policies that encourage social capital as evidence has shown that some government policies such as slum clearance decreases social capital (Putnam, 1995, p.671). Another solution is to engage in leisure activities that increase social capital such as reading of newspapers and sports rather than watching television which declines social capital.
