Gender roles, vary across different cultures for example females take care of domestic work but their mode of dressing and nature tend to vary widely. Gender roles are cultural and they greatly determine how females and males dress, speak, and interact with the society. Gender is constructed socially but not biologically by the sexual characteristics of either male or female. Gender roles are imposed through social influences such as parents, teachers, books, and religion.
Across different cultures, there are variations in culture gender role depending on ethnicity, occupation, age and education. Some cultures express two genders while others have more. The western culture develops the independence of the child by allowing them to think and make their own choices unlike the collectivistic cultures that teach communal cooperation and advise the child on important issues.
