After watching the video and examining the readings, I have developed thoughts about sex and gender. Looking at the word "complexity" in biology, I view it as the number of different sequences of base-pairs in a particular genome while variation means any difference between cells, individual organisms, or groups of organisms of any species caused either by genetic differences or by the effect of environmental factors on the expression of the genetic potentials. Variation may be seen in metabolism, physical appearance, mode of reproduction, learning and mental ability, fertility, behavior, and other obvious or measurable characters. There is genotypic variations caused by variances the in number or structure of chromosomes. Body form, eye color, and disease resistance are examples genotypic variations. Therefore Variations can be classified as either qualitative (composed of well-defined classes, e.g. blood groups in man) or as quantitative (smoothly grading between two extremes, with the majority of individuals at the center, e.g. height in human populations).
