Guided by different factors, an average human perceives and communicates (Hamilton et al., 2019). Humans interact daily and hold different self-concepts. From a personal perspective, a public speaking interaction was among the personal circumstance where self-concept impacted my communication. As a shy and introverted personality, I needed the capability to enchant an audience and engage my audience. The specific self-concept largely influenced my communication during the occasion. When my turn to address the audience reached, I became nervous and gained self-doubt. I always feared judgment and the perception that people would not hear me. I engaged the people while rushing through my ideas and evaded eye contact with the people. My self-concept, alongside inadequate confidence, affected my capacity to communicate with the audience effectively.
