The article is instrumental because it seeks to explain how recreational sports impact students and their academic performance. The study compared students participating in recreational sports and those not engaging in any sporting activity at the university. The study's findings are that a positive relationship exists between recreational sports and academic performance. It means that students engaging in recreational sports had benefits that made them succeed academically. These students would be able to burn calories negative energy and have a clear mind that they would use to read and improve on their GPA. Furthermore, recreational sports created teamwork and networking, allowing the students to have strong study groups and tips on improving their GPA. The second finding is that the more hours a student spent on recreational sports per week, the higher their GPA points. However, in this finding, careful consideration must be placed to ensure that the hours spent on recreational sports follow the plan. It will eliminate fatigue that negatively affects the students in their academic pathway.
The findings of the research article are important as they help recreational sports professionals to be in a position where they can suggest the participation processes and recreational sports plans for university students to better their academic achievement. Consequently, the research is important because it justifies the importance of recreational sports in universities and students' cognitive development. Often, students are keen on reading without engaging in any co-curricular activities. Education and awareness of the importance of co-curricular activities are needed to motivate these students to participate in recreational sports.
