A time zone refers to a zone on the geographical world globe with a division of approximately 15 degrees longitude wide that extends north to the south, creating uniform times, within which each zone utilizes. According to the National Tourism Education Conference (2019), time zones are derived from research findings that the earth revolves through 15 degrees of longitude hourly. Hence, it creates twenty-four standard time zones counted from the Prime Meridian, running over Greenwich, England (National Tourism Education Conference, 2019).

Time zones are considered imaginary lines from the north of the globe to the south of the globe. Nevertheless, they are not straight lines but curved to form angles that allow some small countries to share a time zone. For instance, islands around the Pacific Island share similar time zones despite note on the same imaginary lines, but through the curved lines, they share similar time.
