Instructions Royce, Thyer, and Padgett in Chapter 5 discuss process evaluations. Using the program activity identified in the logic model from assignment 2.1, describe how a process evaluation will allow program managers to determine if the activity is being administered in accordance with established policies, procedures, and processes. The process evaluation you describe should either be for program description, monitoring, or quality assurance. Requirements: Single Space (except between paragraphs) One page Memo format 1. Heading 2. Executive summary (three sentences) - Sentence 1 will describe a process evaluation. Sentence 2 will describe how the process evaluation will be used to evaluate the activity identified in the logic model from assignment 2.1. Sentence 3 will describe what managers will learn from the process evaluation. 3. Activity - Identify and briefly describe the activity being evaluated. Be sure to reference the logic model in the attachment you will add to your memo (see points 5 and 7). 4. Background –Compare and contrast a process and formative evaluation. Be sure to provide a definition for both a formative and process evaluation. Explain how the information generated by the process evaluation will differ from the information generated by a formative evaluation. In this section, do not differentiate between the different types of process evaluation. 5. Focus of evaluation - The purpose of a process evaluation is either description, monitoring, or quality assurance. Pick one (description, monitoring, or quality assurance) and define the concept. Use the definition to explain how you would use the specific type of process evaluation to evaluate the program activity identified in the logic model from assignment 2.1. What data needs to be collected? How will the data be evaluated? For example, if the purpose of the evaluation is description, what is the data describing? 6. Discussion - Why do managers need the information? Be sure to consider the organization mission and program goals/objectives when making your recommendation. 7. Attachment: Include the logic model from assignment 2.1 as an attachment to the memo. 8.
