Family and intimate partner violence: Heavy hands. Instructions This assignment meets CLO 3 and MLO 3 and 4. Many people in certain roles and jobs are mandated by law to report suspected abuse. Consequences for failing to report suspected child maltreatment may be punishable by civil or criminal liabilities for mandated reporters. But how does one know what to look for, when to report abuse, and who to reach out to when abuse is suspected? Many states have free or low-cost training for mandated reporters. Instructions: For this assignment begin by: Locating the New York Self-Directed Online Training or a similar training resource in your home state and complete the training. If you have trouble finding a similar resource, contact me for assistance. For the NY Training, you will need to register and verify your email address with Human Services Learning Center first and you must complete the entire training within 30 days of registering. If you, prior to taking this course, completed a mandated reporting training, see the alternative writing assignments that follow. Once the training is completed, compose a 1–2-page paper detailing: What are the indicators of abuse? What is the process for making a report? What surprised you about the responsibilities of mandated reporters? If, prior to this course, you already completed mandated reporter training, I would like you to develop a 1–2-page paper detailing: What are the common indicators of child sexual abuse? Define and describe Sexual Abuse Accommodation Syndrome. Describe the role of race and economics in the rates of reporting and investigations of child abuse? Discuss times when you have or thought about reporting abuse.
