Diversity indicates a sign of tolerance and understanding among the people. It has been exhibited by many Muslim nationals all over the world. It is a demonstration of acceptance and appreciation of others based on their existence. This leads to appreciation and recognition of other people`s talents (Farah,2010)
Concerns.
The most sought after form of diversity is separation of religion and state. State organs and resources are controlled politically. The citizens in a country decide their destiny through expression of their freedoms to elect their representatives. Religion is a personal relationship between people and their God and should be respected. The labeling of countries as Muslim or Christian curtails the freedom of those nationals. There is no nation world over which can claim to have only followers of one religion only. The minorities must be respected. The discrimination of people on the basis their sexual orientation must, also be condemned. We are all equal before God and, we must appreciate that we are gifted differently. Everybody must be granted an opportunity to exploit his or her talents (Sundaram and Cheek, 1988). This will benefit the whole society and the entire world at large. Politically everybody irrespective of gender should be given a free hand to contest. The voters in expression of their will shall elect who they consider the best. This will entrench democratic ideals and the rights of all will be upheld. This will ensure that individuals exploit their talents fully and, the best will be rewarded. People will also realize areas where they are gifted and concentrate their efforts there. The society will develop greatly since its resources will be fully exploited. This enables pervasive development of the whole society (Mohadan, 2008)
Measures.
Diversity has been demonstrated in many areas in the social, economic and, political settings. Most social settings especially in Muslim backgrounds appreciate the role of the man as the leader of the family. However, most of the countries that have had women presidents have a Muslim majority (Mazrui, 1997). This shows that diversity of cultural has been accepted but, it cannot be used to block development of women for political positions. Diversity has also been demonstrated in the political fields where everybody who qualifies can run for any political position freely. Anybody can seek any elective post without hindrance. The political class has come up with laws that do not segregate women.
Conclusion.
The growth of political movements across many countries has shown that governments are flexible. They have become more accommodative of criticism. The civil society movements have also grown in leaps and bounds. This has contributed to improvement in delivery of servic...
