There have been heated debates around women's education in the last few decades. Although education right has long been among the crucial international goals, empowerment and women's education came to light in the 90s. During that time, different conferences emerged to place women's education rights at the center. These efforts have increased education enrollment, which is vital in realizing the development goals of the different economies. Improved health and hygiene, reduced social exclusion, and reduced HIV rates are among the benefits of women's education.
Individual well-being is crucial when it comes to economic growth. Educated women usually pay more attention to their family's health and hygiene than uneducated women (Aragon & Miller, 2012). Through proper education, women usually acquire the necessary knowledge concerning health hazards. Consequently, they will do whatever it takes to eliminate those hazards from their family and the community. Moreover, educated women give birth to a few children whom they raise in healthier ways without strain. They also educate their children about proper lifestyle habits, increasing their survival to adulthood.
Social exclusion among women is one of the factors that can retard economic growth. Notably, the girls who do not go to school are more likely to work as maids, giving them only petty money. To some extent, uneducated women end up pushed into the flesh trade, which can even distort their mental health (girleffect, 2010). Also, society can isolate the women working as domestic workers in their lifetime, thus causing depression to the victims. Fortunately, through quality education, women no longer go through those concerns. This instance will, in turn, breed a balanced society.
