own or researched experiences as a professional in this field to develop a

Every profession has its ethics to ensure that the service they provide will respect their profession and that everyone is affected by their work. Therapy Dog handlers also have ethics they must follow to keep their job's integrity and protect the dogs they are handling. This ethics training program will be conducted in a 5-week program where the importance of ethics and why it matters to the profession will be discussed in that amount of time. This ethics training program aims to inspire responsible and ethical practices among colleagues of the said profession and identify any potential challenges.
Week 1: Understanding Ethical Theories in Therapy Dogs
1 Intro
In this profession, dogs are well integrated into the work, which is why it becomes much more difficult because animals have rights. To better get a grip or insight on this topic, ask the training program participant to do their research. Participants will research and discuss ethical theories that apply to therapy dog work.

There are no set-in-stone rules that are currently applied in therapy dog works. Still, some theories are observed in this work, such as Deontology, Utilitarianism, Care Ethics, and Right Based Ethics. Week 2: Navigating Consent and Boundaries
1 Intro
In particular, consent is crucial for the dog and the handler. Consent in therapy dog engagements and setting clear limits will be discussed and given special attention in the second week of the ethics training program. Participants will discuss possible obstacles and offer tactics for upholding proper boundaries as they examine the ethical issues surrounding consent.
