Compensation practices within an organization have great effect on perceptions employees have about the culture and climate in the workplace. According to Towers Perrin, the impact of compensation practices is immense on performance of top-level employees. Further, compensation practices will only have enough impact if the people in an organization understand them (Gueutal & Stone, 2005).
In line with Gueutal & Stone (2005) argument, Kristine O. and Rebecca T. (2013) are of the view that the perception of employees is crucial for the success of any compensation and benefit program. Most organizations are unable to grasp this important factor, thereby rendering their well-intended practices a waste. The organization I work for, ABC Limited is not effective in the way it communicates its compensation and benefits program.
