Formal team leadership significantly affected the behaviour of the best team by developing a shared goal and each team member's role, providing clear direction and defined roles (Folman, 2021). The collaborative leader also created a trusting team that listened, offered diverse opinions and reached a consensus after listening to everyone. In contrast, formal leadership impacted the behaviour of the worst team by being a dictator, creating a cold and fearful environment where employees could not voice their opinions. While a clear goal was to be met, a lack of proper organization and outlined roles resulted in a disorganized team, duplication of activities and a lack of accountability. Was there a defined shared vision understood by members in either team (best/worst). In the best team, there was a shared vision, where the team leader involved the team in developing the project’s objectives; they effectively communicated the vision of all activities we would undertake and ensured it fit in with every team member’s capabilities and skills. In the worst team, there was no shared vision. Our team leader unilaterally outlined the team’s vision activities to be undertaken and shared the different roles unequally and without consideration of members’ strengths (Nieves et al., 2024).
