Furthermore, there needs to be more comprehensive Language Instruction for Newcomers in Canada (LINC) programs that comprehensively address immigrant-related language needs (Barker, 2021). Salami et al. (2018) also highlight issues of stigma and language barriers that prevent immigrants from seeking help for mental health issues that are so important when facing economic life uncertainties and integration stress. To prevent these problems, social work interventions should try to understand these multiple dimensions of barriers and develop prevention programs for immigrants. Ethical Principles and Regulatory Standards The social workers who deal with immigrant poverty adhere to CASW's core ethical values, especially the value that the clients are unique persons with inherent dignity and worth.
