Impacts of Countertransference to a Person

Countertransference is how a psychologist transfers his feelings to the client (Racker, 2018). Generally, therapists avoid being angry and frustrated. The same kind of reactions I have concerned so far in my practicum. I neither want to get angry at any of my clients nor will I allow them to show arrogance. Instead, I believe in maintaining a professional and strong relationship with them and avoid being emotional when they are in trouble and need immediate assistance. I think emotions (happiness, sadness, anger or frustration) should always be kept aside while dealing with a client in the practicum. They come to psychologists or therapists for care, not for listening to useless things or seeing our frustrations.

It is not good to be angry at the client, no matter how difficult he or she is to deal with. One of the core duties of a psychologist or therapist is to train himself to be calm and be able to face all situations politely.
