The article “Young border crossers: Jewish youth during the age of migration” by Daniella Doron talks about the concept of youth-led migration in Jewish history (Doron, nd). According to her, from 1870 to 1924, about 600,000 immigrants aged fourteen years old and below, introducing the concept of youth-led immigration. Contrary to the past where adults led the migration process, the period saw a new wave of unaccompanied teenagers migrating outside Europe due to their open-mindedness about new experiences, need for adventure, and being attuned to the disturbing tendencies around them, such as antisemitism.
