Within the Asian perspective, important culturally specific variables impede the implementation of servant leadership (Irving, 2010). Particularly, Korean leaders in Asian society conceive the biblical servant leadership exemplified by Jesus Christ as frail and incompatible with authentic spiritual authority and service to society. Authority perception and hierarchical leadership are critical factors affecting the adoption of servant leadership among the Seventh-day Adventist ministers and leaders in Korea and Singapore.
