The Sermon on the Mount is one of the many sermons Jesus gave before he died and was resurrected. This Sermon is quite crucial in the story of Jesus because it is a blueprint for the Christians and the way they ought to live. First of all, the Beatitudes share the kind of life that Christians need to lead. For example, the Bible in Mathew Chapter 5 and Verse 5 notes, “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” This statement speaks to those who are led by their ego and seem to want to dominate every space they are in with their egotistical personas. The Beatitudes are practical guidelines for all Christians and help draw a map for the life that all Christians ought to lead. The practicality of the instructions comes from the life of Jesus, who decided to assume the image of a human being and live for 33 years as a human being. Having led a life that is similar to that which every other person leads, Jesus was humble, had a pure heart, loved everyone, hungered and thirsted for righteousness, and was a peacemaker.
