I plan to pursue a bachelor of science in psychology in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to become a behavior analyst. ABA is one of the critical concepts of understanding and modifying human behavior, which makes it the better option for those interested in becoming a behavior analyst. I am passionate about exploring the fundamental ideas behind human actions and regulation. I also want to instill these principles to make worthwhile changes in real-life situations. Such aligns perfectly with my personal and professional objectives in that it is getting a degree in this area.
Discipline #1: Clinical Psychology
Among the various disciplines in Psychology is Clinical Psychology. It is one concept that resonates with my degree plan. Clinical Psychology deals with the assessment and treatment of patients suffering from different psychological problems and mental health issues through the utilization of evidence-based treatment methods aimed at enhancing wellness(American Psychological Association, 2023). This specialization is analogous to my ABA degree plan because both focus on applying biological and psychological principles for behavioral problem solutions and enhancing individuals' life quality(American Psychological Association, 2008).
