Through the adoption of technological devices such as laptops, smartphones and tablets in the classroom, educators and learners have replaced the conventional learning system with a modern learning system (Unser, 2017). In this blog post, I will explore why this modern learning method is essential for college students while enhancing coursework delivery and student performance in class. Allowing college students to have technological devices in class during learning is an imperative learning approach that has numerous benefits for these students during learning. Undoubtedly, allowing this behavior in class is more beneficial to students and educators, enhancing quality digital learning. Certainly, technological devices enable college students to access a wide range of online learning materials and resources, improve engagement and student interactions, and enhance students' life skills (Lepp et al., 2014). Also, these portable devices allow students to carry their class materials anywhere. Nonetheless, it is also imperative to note that this approach has some shortcomings that educators and college students should be aware of to make informed choices while studying. One notable shortcoming is the distraction of students during classroom learning and the technical malfunctioning of the devices. Advantages of this Behavior First, allowing college students to have technological devices in classrooms improves learning by providing students with a wide range of online learning resources. Through technological devices, college students can access different learning materials and resources via the internet and online libraries such as e-books and websites (Mbabazi et al., 2018).
