Hold on to what is good." This mirrors Entwistle's statement anchored on the need to examine information, especially that which is derived from psychology, to establish its authenticity. Recognizing opponents' perspectives is central to creating healthy relationships and appraising the role of psychology in knowledge creation.
Entwistle (2015) states that five integration frameworks dictate the relationship between Christianity and psychology, including allies, neutral parties, rebuilders, colonists, spies, and enemies. The enemies model affirms that Christianity and psychology are different disciplines and cannot be integrated. The author delineates this perspective based on Christian combatants and secularity. Christian combatants rely solely on the Bible and believe that seeking psychological interventions discredits one's trust in God's ability to solve the problem. On the other hand, secular combatants commit to modernism by diverging away from religious suggestions to solve the problem.
