Mental health issues have been on a sharp rise among adolescents and young adults (Rosenberg, 2020). To illustrate one of the mental health issues among this population group, let us consider the case of John, a 23-year-old who was diagnosed with major depressive disorder. The following are symptoms that John has. One of the symptoms is having a significantly low interest in activities that he once enjoyed. He also reports persistent feelings of hopelessness and has lost significant weight. Sleeping is no longer an easy thing for him, as is concentration. Further, he often feels fatigued and has thought of suicide severally.
