Some of the evidence-based strategies that I would prefer to use for children with ASD are antecedent-based interventions (ABI), Parent-implemented interventions (PII), and Peer-mediated instruction and interventions (PMII). ABIs are evidence-based approaches intended to decrease problematic or interfering behavior. ABIs are designed on the idea that since the environment impacts behaviors, changing the environment in which the unwanted behavior happens can eradicate the undesirable behavior.
