FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGY PROFESSIONALS AND ADULT CRIMINAL COURT

For this Week’s Discussion, you will select one topic under the scope of the adult criminal court that interests you and/or aligns with your career goals. You will read about this topic in this week’s Learning Resources and search the Walden Library to find a peer-reviewed article about which you will write a summary and analysis. This is an opportunity to explore scholarly information about a topic of interest to you and to better understand the roles and responsibilities of forensic psychology professionals in this subspeciality area. Based on your professional interests, choose one of the following topics that pertains to adult criminal court: Victim’s Rights Competency to Stand Trial Criminal Responsibility Estimating Violence Risk Criminal Characteristics (e.g., personality, thinking style, etc.) Review the corresponding section(s) of Bartol and Bartol, as well as any other relevant material in the Learning Resources to familiarize yourself with the topic you have selected. Search the Walden Library and find at least one peer-reviewed article about the topic you selected that pertains to the role of forensic psychology professionals in the criminal system. Post the following: Description of the topic you selected and a brief explanation of why you chose it Summary and analysis of the peer-reviewed article you selected, including the citation and URL link Description, based on the information presented in the article, of the roles and responsibilities of forensic psychology professionals in this context.
